Good used condition—buy or rent
Premium containers
A premium container looks great
Are you looking for a container that’s cheaper than a new one and looks better than an old, worn-out container? The Premium grade falls between “New” and “Cargo Worthy” and is the ideal choice for those who value both price and appearance.
The container will show signs of use, but typically has fewer or less noticeable cosmetic defects than a standard Cargo Worthy container. It can be used for storage and—depending on its specific CSC status—for transport.
When we purchase used containers, we set aside the nicest ones as “Premium.”

Specially selected used containers.
The perfect balance between price and appearance
“Premium” is for those who are okay with normal signs of wear but don’t want anything that looks even slightly used. This makes the category a good choice when the container will be in plain sight.
Consider the use before the stand
Choose based on the task
For short-term storage behind a hall, Cargo Worthy may be sufficient. For longer-term use near customers, employees, or residential areas, Premium may be worth the money.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Premium container?
A Premium container is a used container that has been selected for being in better condition than a standard Cargo Worthy container. Signs of wear, minor dents, and surface rust may still be present. See the full description of our quality categories.
Is a Premium container wind- and watertight?
Premium containers are sold as “cargo worthy.” Each container undergoes a quality inspection, but cosmetic signs of wear are part of the “used” quality category. All of our containers are “cargo-worthy” or better, so you don’t risk getting the lowest-grade WWT (wind- and watertight) or AsIf (As Is) containers. See the differences between our quality categories.
Can a Premium container be used for ocean freight?
It depends on the specific container’s CSC approval and the carrier’s requirements. When placing your order, please specify if it will be used for ocean freight so that the documentation and the remaining validity period can be verified.
Premium Containers: The Neater Used Option
Between “New” and “Cargo Worthy”
“Premium” is not an international standard designation with a single, universally accepted definition. At CHS Container, the term is used to describe used containers that have been selected for being in better condition than “Cargo Worthy.” This categorization helps clarify the difference in appearance and intended use.
You should still expect that the container has been in service. Scratches, minor dents, color variations, and surface rust may be present. If a completely uniform exterior is important, you should instead choose a new one-way container.
Typical uses
The Premium option is often chosen for storage at businesses or residences, temporary storage, construction sites, and projects where the container is visible. It can offer a better balance between purchase price and appearance than the two extremes: “New” and “Cargo Worthy.”
Choose Size and Height
Premium containers are available in 20 -foot and 40-foot sizes. A 20-foot model is easier to fit into smaller spaces, while a 40-foot model offers roughly twice as much floor space. A 40-foot High Cube also provides approximately 30 cm of extra height.
Check transportation requirements
If the container is to be used for international transport, it is not enough for it to be labeled “Premium.” You must verify the specific CSC approval and any requirements from the shipping line or carrier.
CHS Container can assist with selection and delivery from our depots in Hinnerup, Fredericia, Kalundborg, and Copenhagen. Typical delivery time is 2–4 business days. See our delivery guide to ensure you have space to receive the container.
