8-foot new standard container

The 8-foot container is a flexible storage solution for those who need more space than a mini-container but still want a solution that’s easy to place close to the worksite. It’s often used for tools, materials, and small-scale storage tasks where quick access is important.
An 8-foot container can also be transported on, for example, a large trailer or a flatbed truck. Flatbed trucks equipped with a more powerful crane can usually lift an 8-foot container onto the bed.

Typical Applications

This container is often used for:

  • tools and machinery
  • building materials
  • small warehouse for tradespeople
  • garden furniture and equipment
  • moving boxes and household goods
  • warehouse for online store
  • storage space during renovation

That’s why many people choose an 8-foot container

The 8-foot container provides extra space without taking up as much room as a standard 20-foot container.

That’s what makes it popular:

  • at smaller construction sites
  • at private residences
  • as additional storage space at the business
  • where access is limited

Its compact size makes it easier to keep materials and equipment together near the work area.

Customization Options

The container can be customized with, among other things:

  • Electricity and Lighting
  • Ventilation
  • Heat
  • Bookcases
  • Workbench
  • Lock bar
  • Specialty Paint
  • Insulation
  • Flooring
  • Door assembly behind the container door
  • Heat Pump
  • Floor drains and water supply
  • Windows and Doors

Practical Information

The container must be placed on a level and stable surface.

It is also important to take the following into account:

  • Truck Access for Deliveries
  • enough room to open the doors all the way
  • clear space around the container

If you’re unsure about the size or placement, we’d be happy to help you find a solution that fits your specific situation.

Delivery

To ensure a smooth delivery, there are a few things you should check before, during, and after receiving the container. This will help you avoid problems with placement, access, and quality.

Before Delivery

Make sure the surface is stable

The container must be placed on a level and stable surface. Examples include:

  • tiles under the corners
  • steel plates
  • concrete
  • other solid surface

If you have any questions about shims or underlays, we’d be happy to provide guidance.

Ensure access for delivery

You must make sure that the truck can get through and unload the container.

Please pay special attention to:

  • fence
  • shrubs and trees
  • cars
  • trailers
  • narrow passages
  • soft surface

If there are any circumstances that might make delivery difficult, please let us know before delivery.

Standard Delivery

Standard delivery is made by a crane truck and includes:

  • reading up to 4 meters from the curb
  • up to 15 minutes of reading time
  • We will call either when the container has been loaded or about 1 hour before delivery

If the container needs to be lifted more than 4 meters, or if delivery is expected to take longer than usual, this must be specified before the order is confirmed. Otherwise, additional costs may apply, such as for extra time or a wasted trip.

Placement on a public road

If the container is to be placed on a public road, sidewalk, or similar area, it is your responsibility to obtain a permit from the municipality before delivery.

Upon delivery

Check the container before unloading

We recommend that you or someone you trust be present when the container is delivered to inspect the delivery.

Before the container is lifted by the crane truck, you should check that the quality matches what you ordered.

Walk around the container and check for:

  • larger dents
  • visible holes
  • more serious injuries
  • conditions that do not meet the agreed-upon quality standards

Check that the doors are working

Once the container is in place, check to make sure the doors open and close completely.

If the container is not level, the doors may jam. This is especially true for 40-foot containers.

Make sure the container is sealed

Go inside the container and close the doors.

If no light comes in through cracks or holes, the container is airtight.

Please contact us immediately if you encounter any problems

If you believe the container has any defects or is missing any parts, please contact CHS Container immediately, before the crane truck leaves the address.

After delivery

Changes to the container

The container must not be painted, modified, or altered until it has been paid for in full.

When renting a container, you may not modify it without our prior consent.

If the container is modified without authorization, you may be charged for the cost of restoring it to its original condition.

When returning a rental container

When a rental container is returned, it must be:

  • emptied
  • cleaned on the inside
  • in generally good condition

If you have rented a lock from us, all keys and key cards must be returned along with the lock.

ONE-WAY CONTAINER. ALMOST LIKE NEW.

A one-way container has typically been used for only a single sea shipment from the manufacturer to Europe. As a result, the container looks almost new, with minimal wear and tear.

This category is often chosen by businesses and individuals who want the most attractive solution with the longest expected lifespan. One Way containers are particularly popular for:

  • Long-term storage
  • Container Conversion
  • Visible locations at a business or residence
  • Workshops and Special Projects
  • Exports and International Transportation

A one-way container can typically contain:

  • Very few signs of use
  • Minimal surface rust
  • Intact corners and panels
  • Floors and interior surfaces in like-new condition
  • Long service life with minimal maintenance

The container is CSC-approved and ready for ocean freight.
